If you have attended one of my workshops on Friendship Skills and Asperger’s Syndrome, you would have heard me mention Carol Gray’s excellent series of booklets published in The Morning News, entitled Gray’s Guide to Bullying. For further information with regard to how you can obtain the relevant copies of The Morning News, Carol Gray’s office in the USA on 616 457 8955 or by email at cgray@remc7.k12.mi.us.
Gray’s Guide to Bullying addresses bullying in light of its frequent targets - children with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Carol reviews the research literature on bullying as it applies to children with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, outlines the incidence of bullying and its impact on children. Bullying is a topic of concern to all children, teachers and parents.
Carol’s guide is essential reading for those whose lives are or were affected by bullying. Her subsequent guide will focus on intervention strategies. She is also eager to receive submissions of first hand accounts and ideas for intervention for the subsequent Guide.
