AspergersAndOtherHalf -- The Other Half of Aspergers Syndrome
This group is intended to help NT partners / spouses of individuals with people suspected to have, or officially diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome to connect with people facing similar situations.
We recognize and address the challenges that arise from being in a relationship with a partner who has Aspergers Syndrome and share information and strategies for coping with the stress, confusion and misunderstandings that occur. Here we can discuss our situations, learn more about AS and find ways of coping with the realities of our relationships. This is a group for women who would like to find ways to help themselves and their partner to live a richer and more fulfilling life with less conflict and more mutual support. We, the women in these relationships sometimes suffer from loneliness, isolation, and feelings of emotional abandonment as well as low self esteem. We are often blamed by our partners for most things and frequently question our sanity and blame ourselves. We can compare notes, share resources, ideas, coping strategies and lend support to people involved in relationships with Aspies.
We welcome ANY woman who seeks support for AS/NT relationships issues to join from ANYWHERE

S.A.N.T.I.A.R - Support Adult Neuro-Typicals In Asperger Relationships.
This is a place for the 'NEURO-TYPICALLY' wired half of a relationship where one partner has Asperger Syndrome to come and share, be heard and feel understood. It's a place where others will know exactly how you feel, will be going through a lot of the same difficulties and can help validate OUR feelings. It's a place where WE can feel supported in a world that largely doesn't understand what we go through. A place where we can share experiences, wisdom, coping strategies and discover ways in which we can support each other through the almost inevitable highs and lows. The amount of times I, as a woman, have heard the phrase "he's just being a typical man isn't he?" (when I've discussed some of the problems I go through with my partner) has just left me feeling very on my own with *it all*. If you need the support of other people who understand what you're going through - this is the place to come!
